Careen Dance Studio was established in 1986 at Ringwood by Carol Booth and Maureen Cole (Thus the name Carol Maureen). In 1997 Careen branched out and commenced classes in the Lilydale area.
The main objective of all Dance Teacher’s at Careen is to develop a love of dance and to help build self esteem and confidence in all students.
At both studios, students are able to participate and enjoy being trained in the areas of Jazz, Hip Hop, Classical Ballet, Tap, Neo Classical, Lyrical, Acrobatics, Strength & Conditioning and Contemporary.
Students also have the opportunity to participate in exams under the syllabus of the State Dance Association (SDA). They may even wish to eventually undertake their Teacher’s Diploma. Exams are held twice yearly.
Careen also trains Competition Troupes. If teachers feel a student has the capabilities, that student may be invited to join an age appropriate troupe class. This invitation will be both verbal and in writing to ensure the student’s parents are available for the commitment.
Many students have furthered their dance tuition by going on to pursue full time dance studies.
